We're Back from Camping Trip

Image
We left for the campgrounds on Thursday, April 19 and stayed until Monday, April 23rd. Arrived around 3:00pm and set up at site 32. It's a good site and close to the shower house. I'll post pictures soon.In the meantime, I've already uploaded the videos I took. There would have been more, but I ran into the problem of storage space on my camera. We explored the park and found a trail from our site to where Lake Norton would have been.  In the videos of us driving around the campground, we point out different sites that look inviting. Lake Norton was drained during Hurricane Matthew and will be fixed started next month. That information was not verified, just discussed among fellow campers. We really enjoyed being outdoors and quickly got used to living at the campground. We love, love, love camping!!!

We're Going Camping!!!!

Image
Last night we reserved our campsite for our next camping adventure! We looked at several campgrounds within four hours of home and decided on, oh wait, I can't tell you yet. Let's just say it's an under-rated park/campground with very few online videos posted. There isn't even a video showing the what the campsites look like. So, we'll try to remedy that. In the meantime, we have some preparation work ahead of us. This part is almost as much fun as camping. Lists to make, a bit of shopping to do, sorting and packing, not to mention we need to repair the headboard Joe made. He made it to disassemble, but the last time we took it apart several pieces broke. But Joe wanted to make adjustments to it anyway. We also need to change the flooring in the tent. While tarps, a carpet remnant and throws are okay, I think there is a more efficient solution. It needs to be insulating, protective, comfortable to the feet, able to set up/take down easily, not take up much space...

First Video Uploaded

As part of my goals for January, I have uploaded my first video to You Tube. No narration, just raw video of our drive on the road to Kings Mountain Campground. This was actually our, as a couple, second camping trip. Joe has been camping his whole life and could teach classes in the subject. Our first was two weeks earlier where we traveled and camped from Myrtle Beach, SC all the way up to Sebago, Maine with one overnight stop at Kiptopeke State Park in Virginia and a three days stop in Wompatuck State Park in Massachusetts. In Sebago we stayed at a private campground in nearby Standish called, Friends and Family Campground . On the way back we stopped in Maryland eastern shore at a private campground called Holiday Park Campground and finally treated ourselves to a one night stay at a motel in Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia before heading home. That was over a 10 day trip. Since then we bought a bigger tent and have camped at Myrtle Beach State Park and over the holida...
