The Home Stretch

Today makes my 20th radiation treatment. 8 more to go. good thing too because I am worn out and sick of loosing hours at work, fighting traffic, having to scramble to get dinner ready after treatment and putting up with technicians who are clearly on auto-pilot. There is one young man who asks me the same questions, some times three times a day. "How was your day?" "What are your plans after your treatment?" "Any big plans after this?" "What did you do today?" No one is outright rude, but they are clearly tired of seeing my fat face. I've been taking a picture each week showing the progress of my hair growth. The sides are coming in nicely, the top, not so much. I am really hoping that by mid March to be able to show my hair again. I am tired of wearing hats. We are going to have a garden this year!!! Yea! This time we are going to only use 5 gallon buckets. In the past I have used smaller containers and ended up with smaller vegetables. ...

Weekend Plans & Camping vs Motel

Well, we are going to be looking at some properties this weekend. I'm not getting my hopes up. I was thinking about how many houses we have seen since February and I believe we over 40. And we have put offers on 2, but were rejected. It's funny, when we show interest in a house, it either goes off market or gets sold before we can act on them. There was one that sold just as we were asking to see it! These two we are seeing this weekend have been on the market awhile, so they are either under a foot of water or currently on fire.LOL!! Yesterday Joe mowed the yard so we can get the tent out and do some maintenance on it. Mainly we need to repack it. Living on the coast, the yard is all sand so really he was mowing was weeds, ant hills and leaves. But it looks better. Last year we only mowed 4 times. I'm looking forward to seeing our tent set up. Of course, that does depend on the weather. We have received a good bit of rain over the past month. In fact, we cancelled a camp...

Pictures from our latest camping trip-A Retrospect

Next to living at the campground, reliving it is very calming. Even the rough parts are smoothed over by romanticizing. Thursday-  Campsite 32-Just pulled in and looking where to set up the tent and shelter. Fairly level campsite. Pine tree canopy. Fire ring off to the side, near where we parked the van.    We moved the picnic table to where we wanted it and Joe used it to help set up the shelter. It only takes us about 10 minutes to erect the tent, takes longer to make it homey. Tent with rainfly on and twinkle lights. Joe is so clever! He used clothespins to hang both the lights on the tent and the tarp onto the shelter. After dark, the bra comes off and the campfire burns! Now that's comfort!!!! Later in the evening, Joe makes hot tea and we enjoy s'mores. The graham crackers are organic, but not the marshmallows or the chocolate. Shame! But it was a treat for being good campers! LOL Friday- We start...
